SUP Lessons

Stand up paddle boarding is one of the few water activities that almost everyone can enjoy with proper instruction. Many people think they do not need a lesson, but if you want to learn proper paddle technique and advance your paddle skills then our lessons are made for you!

We offer private and semi-private lessons as well as our popular group SUP Level 1 class.

SUP Level 1 is an introductory class for those new to the world of Stand Up Paddle. This class covers board and paddle control, standing and balance, SUP safety, launching and landing, basic strokes and technical knowledge of the sport. This class will give you the foundational knowledge and skills to get you on the water paddling safely. Group Level 1 classes are offered on Thursday evenings and the semi-private classes are on Saturday mornings.

If you have never been on a board we highly recommend you take this class before trying one of our SUP fitness classes.

All B’More SUP staff are World Paddle Association and/or ASI Certified SUP instructors and taking a lesson with us will ensure that everyone in your group has the time and instruction needed to feel comfortable on a board.

One Hour Lessons Include:
-YOLO Board & paddle
-P.F.D. (personal flotation device) and leash
-On land paddle and water safety instruction
-On water paddle instruction
