Stand up paddle boarding is one of the few water activities that almost everyone can enjoy with proper instruction. We offer private and semi-private lessons as well as our popular SUP Skills class. All B’More SUP staff are World Paddle Association and/or ASI Certified SUP instructors and taking a lesson with us will ensure that everyone in your group has the time and instruction needed to feel comfortable on a board.
One Hour Lessons Include:
- YOLO Board & paddle
- P.F.D. (personal flotation device)
- On land paddle and water safety instruction
- On water paddle instruction
This class covers all the basic SUP Skills you need. It will begin with an on land lesson to teach you about the equipment and proper paddle etiquette. Once on the water you will learn paddle technique, how to stop, turn and steer your board as well as rescue and recovery techniques. This group class is 60 minutes long.
Cost: $35 (or purchase a class pack or unlimited monthly pass).
Private or Semi Private Lesson:
Learn all the basics needed for becoming a proficient paddler in a private or private group setting. The lesson includes 2 hours of equipment use, with one hour of expert coaching.
Cost: $60 for the first person and $45 for each additional person.
Our home base, on Bear Creek, is one of the tributaries to the Chesapeake Bay and has many quaint waterfront communities and parks to explore. Our SUP tours will take you down several of the neighboring coves and also allow you to explore the quiet waterways surrounding Sparrows Point Country Club. Our two hour tours are perfect for all paddling levels- from beginner to advanced. Tours include top of the line equipment, a certified SUP instructor, photos and lots of laughs.
Cost: $60 for the first person and $40 for each additional person.
We believe fitness should be fun- and what better way to make your workout fun than to take it to the water. We are proud partners of FloYo®, and offer all 3 of their classes.
The signature FloYo class consists of vinyasa yoga sequences where SUP sun salutations will flow into lengthening and strengthening yoga poses, balance postures, breathing techniques and even a little play time on the boards. The focus of the class is having FUN while using core stability to improve the overall functioning of the body and build a stronger more balanced physique.
A boot-camp style class which includes interval based training, body weight exercises and paddle drills to get your heart rate up and build strength. FloYo Fit will always begin and end with a traditional FloYo yoga-inspired warm up and cool down on the boards.
This class is designed to help you slow down and find peace & serenity outdoors. The water lends itself to relaxation and the restorative postures will be held longer to allow for a full release easing the body and invigorating the spirit. You will leave this class feeling relaxed, refreshed and connected to nature.
